connect to God through prayer

  • Pray about participating in the Discipleship Initiative for Community on Wednesday evenings in October (sign up on the website or in person on Sunday).
  • Pray for those dealing with long-term health issues and cancer treatments, and for Anissa Almaguer and Neida Roa as they recover from the births of their daughters.
  • Also remember: Marilyn Chappell and other residents in Palm Village Healthcare, Harold Kruger and others in Sierra View, and Mary Salazar
  • Pray for those who have lost loved ones and those attending the GriefShare support group.
  • Pray for the North Fresno Church as they are walking with families through recent losses--Larry Martens (pastor, conference leader, FPU/seminary professor) died from pancreatic cancer, and the Ochoa family was in an accident where the mother was critically injured, three children died, and two others received minor injuries.
  • Pray for those who are seeking employment.
  • Pray for the undocumented in our community as they navigate life under this administration.
  • Pray for our missionaries: Pablo & Maricela Chavez in Peru, Cecil & Tracy Ramos in Thailand, Jonathan & Joanna Gutierrez in Portugal, and Johnny & Denise Esposito in Cambodia.
  • Pray for peace as violence and war affect so many families and children in Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, in the Middle East, and in parts of Africa.

Living Stones in a Story being Written

You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house.” – 1 Peter 2:5

New Life Community, once Dinuba Mennonite Brethren Church, began in 1925. Those early believers became the first “stones” of a spiritual house that God has been building for 100 years.
Over the years, the church grew outward—planting new congregations, sending missionaries, and launching ministries like the Home Resource Center and Celebrate Recovery. Each step was a reminder that living stones don’t stay still; they multiply, serve, and extend Christ’s love.
Today the church is known not only for worship on Sundays, but for practical love throughout Dinuba—helping families, walking with the broken, and sharing Christ in word and deed.
Just like the generations before us, we are called to be “living stones.” That means showing up, investing in people, and letting God place us where we can bless others. The building isn’t finished—God is still shaping and setting each of us into His ongoing story.

  • Remember: We stand on the faithfulness of past generations.
  • Live: Be willing to serve as a “stone” God uses today.
  • Look ahead: Trust the Master Builder to continue His work in and through us.

Jesus, our Cornerstone, thank You for the past 100 years of Your faithfulness. Shape us into living stones, ready to serve, welcome, and build. Keep writing Your story through us for the next 100 years. Amen.
