NLC Connect - Oct. 1, 2025

connect with God's Word

PC: Pastor Brad Isaak and Amanda Dover
Campus Life joins Dinuba High School students to pray in front of the school for a "See You at the Pole" event.
The City of Dinuba hosts a Worship night at the Park to kick off the annual Raisin Day Festival.
NLC Kids were more than ready to celebrate reaching their fundraising goal for MCC school kits. There were smiles all around as Ms. Amelia and Ms. Dulce turned into human pancakes. We are so grateful for our young adults at NLC!

connect to God through prayer

  • Pray for Manuel and Karen Madrid and for healing, peace and wisdom for decisions to be made about health issues; and for Brian Willems as he has surgery on Thursday.  If you would like to make soup for Brian's special diet as he recovers, please contact his wife Christine.
  • Pray for those dealing with long-term health issues and cancer treatments.
  • Also remember: Marilyn Chappell and other residents in Palm Village Healthcare, Harold Kruger and others in Sierra View, and Mary Salazar
  • Pray for those who have lost loved ones and those attending the GriefShare support group.
  • Pray for those who are seeking employment.
  • Pray for the undocumented in our community as they navigate life under this administration.
  • Pray for our missionaries: Pablo & Maricela Chavez in Peru, Cecil & Tracy Ramos in Thailand, Jonathan & Joanna Gutierrez in Portugal, and Johnny & Denise Esposito in Cambodia.
  • Pray for peace as violence and war affect so many families and children in Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, in the Middle East, and in parts of Africa.

Connect to Woman's Retreat

I had the privilege of attending the women's retreat at Hartland Christian Camp a couple of weeks ago. We had an amazing speaker named La Cinda Halls. Her lessons taught us about a few women in the Bible that carried a weight so heavy that they would rather avoid people. The Samaritan woman went to the well at noon for that very reason and it is also the reason Hagar ran into the wilderness. Yet in both places, God met them. He didn't care about the reputation they had. He cared about the relationship he had with them. Just like He cares about the relationship He has with us.

A highlight of the trip for me was Ziplining! I was excited, but when I got to the moment that I had to take the leap I got too scared to jump. I sat down to slide off, and I was still scared. My friend and the other ladies were telling me, "you can do it!", "Jesus is with you!", and "just jump! It's easier!". The guy asked if I would like a little push. I said "yes, I wanna do it but I'm scared!" All it took was a little push. I was scared for about 3 seconds and then I was filled with so much joy. I started screaming, "I did it! I'm ziplining!"

There was a moment shared with our ladies group that was so impactful for me. I was amazed as I watched one of the ladies open up to the group about her struggles. It was crazy how a lady joined us at the last meeting who wasn't from our church and her struggles were so very similar. It reminded me how La Cinda was saying that our story could be what someone needs to hear.
