NLC Connect - June 26, 2024

NLC Kids Ministry has been studying a particular theme this month called "Walking in Love." We have the opportunity to explore the final lesson this Sunday on Perseverance. James 1 might be the most famous passage that addresses facing temptations and trials. But it’s also famous for reminding us we have the option to choose our mindset when facing those challenges. Take a few moments to read James 1 before Sunday.
God provides a source of strength and endurance to help us get past the temptations. According to James, that source is joy. When I’ve chosen joy, I’ve gained strength I didn’t know I had and the perseverance to keep pushing through and beyond. What are you facing in your life that feels too hard and the temptation is to give up or take an easier way out? What truths about God’s love and power make it possible for you to choose joy right now? God is ready to meet you, equip you, empower you, and fill you with all wisdom and understanding so you can have the perseverance to stand the tests and trials. He will help you through.

One of the highlights of last summer was the beginning of a beautiful partnership at our sister Church, Templo de Oracion in Traver. We are excited to see this partnership continue this summer at their annual VBS. At The Great Jungle Journey VBS, kids sail along on a fun jungle cruise, stopping at seven ports of call - the 7 C's of History: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation. Kids are discovering how these biblical events shape our world, and they will learn to reconnect the Bible to their everyday lives.
Our young people are actively living out their faith this week by leading groups, teaching Bible lessons and leading in crafts. It is inspiring to watch our young people use their gifts for Kingdom work! We are thankful for the opportunity to partner with Pastor Pacheco and Lupe. God has truly given them a heart for the community of Traver. Every piece of decor, meal, craft and tractor ride are a true labor of love for the young people God is sending their way. Will you pray with us that God continues to work in the hearts and lives of these little ones? May He draw all of our hearts closer to Him!
