My weekend began at Hartland with a delicious dinner, setting the stage for what would be a meaningful and memorable experience. Afterward, I had to retrieve my luggage from the car, which, unfortunately, felt like a trek across a frozen tundra. The icy pavement made it quite the challenge—I took a few tumbles (four, to be exact), but thankfully, I was okay.
The next morning, I started the day with breakfast before heading to chapel. The worship team was incredible all week, leading with such passion and authenticity. It was truly a powerful atmosphere of praise. The speaker was Pastor PJ from The Well Church in Kingsburg, someone I’ve known for about four and a half years. Seeing him there was a great surprise and made the experience even more special.
Back at the cabin, we had our “So What Time,” a moment of reflection on the message. Each of my cabin mates shared something they felt called to change in their lives. The overarching theme for the week was commUNITY—a focus on team unity and how we can grow together in our faith to become more like Jesus. Many people expressed a desire to be more intentional in reaching out—whether at school, work, or in sports groups—striving to build stronger connections with those around them.
What resonated most deeply with me was 2 Corinthians 5:19, which speaks of renewal and reconciliation. To me, this verse carried a powerful message: the old is gone, and the new is here. It reminded me that faith is an ongoing transformation—a constant process of shedding the past and stepping into the person God is calling us to be.
