We’re excited to welcome Roberto Gaitan as our new Worship Ministries Leader. Robert is a humble, experienced, and gifted worship leader, with a heart to help people worship the Lord in Spirit and truth. We look forward to Robert joining us on staff within the next couple weeks, and you all can look forward to welcoming Robert and getting to know him and his family (wife, Anahí; and 3 boys, ages 10, 5, 2) in the season ahead. Let’s commit to praying God’s strength, protection, favor, and peace for this beautiful family in the upcoming transition.
A special thank you to the awesome worship volunteers (especially Bruce Smith!) who have been faithfully leading our church in this area for the past few years. We love seeing you all use your gifts to worship Jesus.
Also, thank you to the hiring team of elders/trustees who have been closely working together to discern God’s leading throughout this hiring process.

- Brian & Christine Willems thank the church for prayers and people who brought meals as he is healing. It all helped a lot!
- Continue praying for Evelyn Romero and Manuel and Karen Madrid (Manuel is recovering from surgery and anticipating another surgery).
- Pray for Tessa Fiscus and her family as she undergoes chemo; for Eugene Enns as he battles an additional type of cancer, and for others dealing with long-term health issues.
- Also remember: Mae Ewert, Marilyn Chappell and other residents in Palm Village Healthcare, Harold Kruger and others in Sierra View, and Mary Salazar.
- Pray for those who have lost loved ones, especially during upcoming holidays. The GriefShare support group meets on Monday evenings at 6:30 in Room 114/115.
- Please pray for Joshua Aquino serving on a fire crew during this fire season. Ask God to protect him, give him strength and wisdom as he serves.
- Pray for those who are seeking employment.
- Pray for the undocumented in our community and those facing food insecurity and financial challenges.
- Pray for our missionaries: Pablo & Maricela Chavez (Peru), Cecil & Tracy Ramos (Thailand), Jonathan & Joanna Gutierrez (Portugal--meet them at NLC on October 25!), and Johnny & Denise Esposito (Cambodia).
- Pray for peace as violence and war affect so many families and children around the world.
- Pray for events on the calendar and people connecting with God and each other, and pray for those involved in the budgeting process as we seek to be good stewards and plan for next year.
Good News Club
The Good News Club is an after-school club where, with parent permission, kids can come and hear the Gospel! We meet every Tuesday right after school for an hour and 10 minutes.
Each week includes games, songs, Bible stories, and snacks. Right now, we’re learning about David, and we’ve already gotten to my favorite story—David and Goliath! We started the year with 18 kids, and as of last week, we’re up to 27 kids! Even more exciting, 14 kids have prayed to make a commitment to Christ—that’s more than 50% of the kids who have attended! What an incredible answer to prayer. I truly feel that we are planting seeds, and we never know which seeds will take root or who God may be calling from among these children—perhaps even some He will one day call into full-time ministry!
We are also blessed to be involved with the Wilson school club, and they have been helping us staff our club. We are so thankful for their partnership and willingness to serve alongside us!
We are always open to new helpers. Could God be calling you to be part of this ministry? Whether you can help regularly or just occasionally, we would love to have you join us in sharing the Good News with these kids!
Please pray for our club, our leaders, and each of these children—that God would continue working in their hearts, drawing them to Himself, and helping the seeds of His Word take root and grow.
What a privilege it is to watch God work!
