connect to God through prayer

  • Pray for Anissa Almaguer to have good health as she prepares to bring new life into this world! Anissa has been doing iron transfusions to raise her hemoglobin. Pray for strength and wisdom for the doctors supervising her care. Pray for Neida Roa, who is also expecting and was put on bed rest.
  • Pray for Noemi Gonzalez as she recovers from surgery at home.
  • Also remember: Marilyn Chappell and other residents in Palm Village Healthcare, Harold Kruger and others in Sierra View, and Mary Salazar
  • Pray for those who have lost loved ones, including the family of Carolina Coralles, who passed away on July 21.  A new GriefShare support group will begin in August.
  • Pray for those who are seeking employment.
  • Pray for our interns as they serve our Church family and community and finish final projects this week.
  • Pray for the undocumented in our community as they navigate life under this administration.
  • Pray for our missionaries: Pablo & Maricela Chavez in Peru, Cecil & Tracy Ramos in Thailand, Jonathan & Joanna Gutierrez in Portugal, and Johnny & Denise Esposito who are home on furlough.
  • Pray for peace as violence and war affect so many families and children in Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, in the Middle East, and in parts of Africa.

Connect with S.O.A.R Missionaries

Hi, my name is Anessa Moreno. I had such an amazing time at Fresno Pacific University for the SOAR event with my church! The whole experience was unforgettable, and I’d absolutely love to do it all over again. We got to connect and grow spiritually through fun activities that brought everyone together. Line dancing had us laughing and moving, and all the little worship games were such a joy; they made our faith feel even more alive. We also headed over to Reedley for even more group activities that brought me so much energy and excitement. Also, the cherry on top? It was when we did the activities in the auditorium of  Fresno Pacific University, like survivor game night and building balloon towers it was so much fun. SOAR gave me moments I’ll always remember, and I can’t wait for another chance to be part of it again.

My name is Lydia Aqunio, and I spent one week at SOAR, and it was amazing! We learned about abiding in the Lord and how to love others. One of the best things I remember was making new Christ-like friends and playing volleyball late at night. We went with our NLC church family, which helped me begin to make new friendships and deepen our relationships. We also went to Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church and helped with a community carnival. We handed out flyers to invite people, along with sharing God's word, ran some carnival games, and watched Faith Escobedo speed paint images of Jesus to help share the message of abiding and believing in the Lord, which was really cool to witness. Being at SOAR brought me closer to the people around me, my community, and to God. I really enjoyed it and didn’t want it to end!
