connect with God's Word

Our next gen team (5th-12th grade) came together on Sunday evening to learn how to greet newcomers and check in on our Ipad Kiosk and Kids Computer.
Our Junior Campers had a great time at Hartland! Over the next couple of weeks we will have their stories in our blog and you will also get the opportunity to hear from them in a Sunday morning service.

Connect to our Campers

Lydia Aquino and Claribel Gonzalez are both 6th graders from NLC who had the opportunity to go to Hartland.

Lydia Aquino: One of the most impactful lessons I learned at church camp happened during a service when the pastor said, “Show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future.” At first, it seemed simple, but as I thought about it more, I realized just how true it was.The people we hang out with can influence us more than we realize. Whether it’s what they say, how they act, or the values they have, those things can rub off on us. It made me stop and think about the friends I have and how they’re shaping the person I’m becoming.
I realized that if I surround myself with people who encourage me, build me up, and challenge me in my faith, I’ll be better for it. But if I let myself be influenced by people who aren’t as focused on God, it could pull me away from who I want to be. It was a wake-up call, reminding me that the company I keep truly does impact my future.

Claribel Gonzalez: Something I learned is that your friends are your future. If you hang out with people that are bad they might influence you to do things that can get you into some big trouble, so you should hang out with the right people because they will represent your future. That's why my mom says, "don't be a follower, be a leader."
