connect with God's Word
Our memory verse for this month is a great challenge. Read what those words say, hide them in your heart, and let it spur you to action! Let us look for ways to motivate one another to acts of love. Let us not neglect assembling together as a Church family. Let us have a spirit of encouragement towards one another. Let us not only hide this verse in our heads, but our hearts as well!

Call to Go!
Reflecting on the past 4 weeks on a mission in the Philippines, Cambodia, and Thailand, I am always amazed at how God works not only in my life but also in the lives of the young people who are passionate about playing the game of basketball. It is refreshing to spend time with a diverse group of men and women, aged 17 to 34, who have a strong desire to serve God and share His love with those who do not know Him. I come away from these trips with so much hope in the young people that God has placed in our lives, we have a younger generation that wants to serve God and spread His good news to others. Our world is hungry for the gospel, and hearts are open to hearing about the saving grace that comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ. When I think back to when we first came together as a group of 20+ people from the US & Canada, many of whom did not know each other, it fills me with joy to see how we left as a family after just 4 weeks. For me, this experience was a glimpse of what heaven will be like. Believers from around the world, whom we do not yet know, will one day spend eternity together, worshipping our Savior as one big family. It was awesome to see how open people were to the gospel message as we were able to witness 324 people give their lives to Jesus. One of the most exciting things for me on these trips is to see the growth in the lives of the players as they share their faith with others and see the excitement in their eyes when people respond to the gospel. It was exciting to see one of our players on the men's team, DeMarcus Fisher, who played with us last year grow from a quiet player who kept to himself into one of our team leaders. At the end of the trip, he asked if he could be baptized on our last night in Thailand. It was such a blessing to step into the water with him and assist in baptizing DeMarcus. God has gifted each one of us with gifts to use for His kingdom to spread the good news to those who haven't heard it. We all have a story to tell that can change someone's life.

Please pray for my sister, Brenda Walters. While visiting her son and daughter in law she tripped and fell hard on concrete floor last weekend. Knees, ribs then head bounced off floor. Black and blue eyes, chest and knees. Hurts to breathe and can hardly walk. Seeing Dr. Tuesday.
Sorry to hear that happened to your sister. We will keep her in prayer!
