connect with God's Word
Our Youth had the opportunity to be encouraged by Chelsea Weber--the Bridge to Ministry Specialist at Fresno Pacific University. We are excited to see how our youth have grown in their faith this summer and look forward to see how God will continue to use them to grow His Kingdom!

connect to each other
It's back to school and this time of the year leading all the way up to the 1st day of school, it can be really hectic. We do our best to make sure our children and youth are registered for classes and extracurricular recreation, have all the supplies they need and have nice outfits to wear. Our children and youth are just days away from being in the classroom, (Pre- K through college) and may be struggling with anxiety about new teachers, new classes, having good grades and staying out of trouble. There are so many distractions that can keep them from focusing on Christ and doing well.
Sunday night we had Chelsea Weber (FPU Bridge to Ministry Specialist) join our youth class. She did an outstanding job ministering to our youth. She shared a powerful message from Hebrews 12 about keeping our eyes on Jesus. One of our young men shared about how having positive friendships encourages him to stay focused on the Lord. Often he plays online video games with one of his best friends from church and they are able to talk with each other through XBox online communication. He shared that many times their conversations lead them back to God and spiritual truths. It blesses my heart to know that our youth, children and families are building spiritually strengthening relationships with one another and encouraging each other to stay focused on Christ.
During busy seasons it can be easy to get distracted and take our focus off of Christ. Ask the Lord who it is in your circle of friends who may need encouragement. It is possible that someone in your circle needs prayer as they enter a difficult season. Perhaps you know a believer (young or old) who is wavering in their faith. Encourage them to keep the faith and to keep their eyes on Jesus. I hope you will reach out to that person today!

My sister, Brenda Walters is recovering well from fractured nose and some broken ribs. Still has bad headaches daily and hurts to breathe. Going back this time with her husband to where she fell (son and daughter in law's) Sacramento area this weekend to see to her brand new grandson Henry Charles Walters born this morning shortly after 3am. Please pray for safe trip (lol) and visit this time. She tripped over their huge dog/small horse.
