NLC Connect - August 14, 2024

connect with God's Word

Over the next couple of weeks we will be hearing from various leaders and volunteers at NLC through the blog. Our hope is that you will be inspired by the impact of their service and connect with their stories. We are so grateful how God chooses to use so many people at NLC to do HIS work! This week you will have the opportunity to connect with Mike and Nori Naylor and the Healing Rooms.

Connect to the Healing Rooms

We have been ministering nearly weekly since January 2023 here at New Life Community in the library inside the sanctuary building. Our three faithful team members use their spiritual gifts to minister to those who visit or call the Healing Rooms for prayer. The prayer team welcomes the presence of the Holy Spirit and then lets the Godhead (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) have control of each prayer time.

The first three Tuesdays of each month we welcome people to receive prayer.  We prepare for ministering an hour before we begin to pray for our guests who arrive between 6:30 and 8:00 PM. This preparation time is essential to clear our minds of distractions and create an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit can move freely. We always come in anticipation and expectation that God will do something amazing that night. And He never fails us or our guests. We pray for any need the person has.

Here are a few testimonies from the past few months. A woman requested prayer for a job interview that she was nervous about. She told us that she got the job and then asked for prayer for her knees since the job involves a lot of walking. A woman came from Visalia for prayer regarding her anxiety and depression. The prayer team encouraged her, and she left with a big smile. Finally, we prayed for a man who was unsheltered and suffering from addiction. He is now sheltered and has been clean for several months. We give God all the glory for the ways he meets the needs of those who seek prayer through the Healing Rooms ministry.
