connect with God's Word
Our Kids and Youth Ministries said "goodbye" to summer this past Sunday with a water party for Kids Ministry during the family meal and a pool party at George and Marcia's for the youth. While we are sad to see summer go, we are so excited to see how God will bless during this fall season.
During kids classes on Sunday, children were asked "How does God help us?" One of our first graders answered, "by giving us the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit leads us right?" Thank you Lord for the work you are doing in the hearts of our children!

connect to God through prayer
- Continue to pray for those who have lost loved ones, including those who participated in the GriefShare support group.
- Pray for health and strength for George Sawatzky (recovering from surgery), Emma (Karen Madrid's mother), Carolina Coralles, Steve Bryan's sister Brenda Walters (recovering from bones broken in a fall) and Glen Zimmerman.
- Pray for Richard Clemmer, recovering from surgery.
- Pray for Abe & Holly Isaak's 6-year-old granddaughter Tessa Fiscus, who has started treatment for cancer, but is doing well at home.
- Also remember: Doris Siebert, Marilyn Chappell and other residents in Palm Village Healthcare, Harold Kruger and others in Sierra View, Louie and Michelle Perez, Mary Salazar, and Zach Clemmer.
- Keep the SEARCH TEAM in your prayers as they work through congregational survey responses and other assignments.
- Pray for our missionaries: Pablo & Maricela Chavez in Peru, Cecil & Tracy Ramos in Thailand, Jonathan & Joanna Gutierrez in Portugal, Ruddy & Cristina Ancheta in San Francisco, and Johnny & Denise Esposito, who are home before returning to SE Asia.
- Pray for peace as violence and war affect so many families and children in Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, in the Middle East, and in parts of Africa.
Connect to our Deacon Team
Don't just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection and take delight in
honoring each other. When God's people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.
Romans 12:9-10, 13
I believe this scripture expresses our desire as a ministry team to serve the Lord by serving our church body in providing care when we are aware of a need. We provide assistance to our Pastoral staff and Elders when and wherever needed.
The Deacons continue to lead in serving communion, make preparations for baptism, and assist with meals where needed. We provide meals and support at a memorial service.
The Deacons oversee a care fund that has been established to assist in the financial needs of our members. We thank the church for faithfully giving to the benevolent fund each month after our communion services. In this past year we have been able to assist with all kinds of financial needs experienced by our members and attenders. Helping with the purchase of groceries, assisting with rent payment, payment of utilities, vehicle repairs, and other needs that have come up. We find joy in assisting with financial needs that our members or attenders may need some help with.
We also have a food pantry that accepts donations of nonperishable food and toiletry items, and it is available for those who might have a need for some grocery supplies.
If you have a financial need that maybe we can help with, please contact the church office, an elder or a member of the Deacon Team.
May God Bless You.
Stan Isaac, on behalf of the Deacon Ministry Team
