Celebrate Recovery Weekly Encouragement 5-31-23

When I’m Tired
I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭62‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I don’t think straight when I’m tired. When I don’t get enough rest i cant sleep well at night; my thoughts get seriously crazy. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one that has to deal with this problem. The trouble is, we often bring it on ourselves by not making the best choices.
After all Life doesn’t stop just because we need a nap. There are priojects to complete, decisions to make, people to see, fires to put out, and so much more. Who’s going to make all that happen of we sit down and take a load off? That truly is a dilemma but especially those of us walking the hard road to recovery, there is only one answer: We have to stop and rest rather we think we can afford it or not!
We can begin by asking God to bless our sleep at night and refresh our souls. Then we should ask others to help as well. Ask them to pray for us to rest adequately at night and when restful opportunities present themselves. Most of all, we should ask our friends and family to to help us monitor our moodS, so that we know when our resources are getting low, and we can take appropriate action. A little wisdom from others goes a long way.

Opioid Awareness, Narcan Training and Distribution.

Opioid deaths are at an all time high here in the Central Valley, as well as all across our country.
Naloxone (Narcan) is a medicine that rapidly reverses an opioid overdose. It is an opioid antagonist. This means that it attaches to opioid receptors and reverses and blocks the effects of other opioids. Naloxone can quickly restore normal breathing to a person if their breathing has slowed or stopped because of an opioid overdose. But, naloxone has no effect on someone who does not have opioids in their system, and it is not a treatment for opioid use disorder. Examples of opioids include heroin, fentanyl, oxycodone (OxyContin®), hydrocodone (Vicodin®), codeine, and morphine.
After the training BCJC will be on hand to distribute Narcan to everyone that attends.

Connection Corner

Over the next few months we will be highlighting recovery stories from some of the leaders at Celebrate Recovery Dinuba.
“We will not boast about things done outside our area of authority. We will boast only about what has happened within the boundaries of the work God has given us, which includes our working with you.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭13‬ ‭NLT

My name is Dalia
I started attending Celebrate Recovery in 2010.  I was 6 months pregnant with my 4th child, married to a heroin addict and clean from a cocaine addiction for 18 years but still very much craving it.
I went to CR in hopes of finding something that would alleviate my pain. With 3 prior suicide attempts I could not find where I fit into this world. I concluded that by ending my life I would be doing my kids a favor. I figured that I was the black sheep that people talk about.
With violence as a foundation I was going from one toxic relationship to another. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.
I had already been attending church for 12 years. I learned about having a personal relationship with God. In CR I learned about healing and full surrender.
In CR I have found healing, from traumas; some caused by others and much that was self inflicted.  I have found  hope in Jesus and share that hope with others. At Celebrate Recovery  I have also found the rest of the sheep herd. My forever family who have accepted as I am, encouraged me to continue growing and healing and Jesus has loved me through them.
