Welcome our new Worship Leader!
Stephanie Sandoval Morales
with husband Diego and daughter RosieAnn

PRAYER
  • Turns out Al Suderman was never hospitalized, just sick at home. Praise the Lord that he and little Alex Barnes are better and were back in church. So was JR Southard and Glen & Peggy Zimmerman!
  • Pray for those fighting illness and elevated levels of anxiety recently.
  • Anatalia Sandoval lost an uncle in Texas. Pray for her and her extended family as they are still grieving the loss of her brother in December. Remember others who are starting the year without their loved ones: Carl Wohlgemuth and Inez Ruiz. One of our young moms is still dealing with a tragic loss from before Christmas. Pray for healing and peace.
  • Continue to pray for the Chavez family in Peru as the national unrest is ongoing.
  • Pray for John & Geri as they follow God's leading in retirement.
  • Pray for Stephanie Morales, our new Worship Leader. Thank God for her gifts and the continuing role of Henry Serrato as our Worship Ministries Leader.
  • Begin praying for the junior campers preparing to go to Hartland Winter Camp in February. Camperships are needed. Pray that the children--some of whom were recently baptized--will grow in their relationship with Jesus and each other. Pray for their leaders.
  • Ask God to prepare your heart and mind for the SPIRITUAL GIFTS message and activity next Sunday, January 15th. May we see the work of the Holy Spirit through the gifts he's given to each of us at NLC.
  • Pray for Calvario Community Church of Dinuba, and pastor Roland De La Cerda. This is our daughter church. Pray for the pastor's wife as they deal with cancer. Pray for healing!
  • Pray for our national leaders as the new Congress forms, that they would be open to God's Word, trust his wisdom, and lead with humility and compassion.

NLC has a New Position Open

NLC is looking for a connector, someone to help new people become part of NLC and to help us all connect better with each other in small groups, in ministry opportunities, and through social media with our community. We're calling this new position a Connections Specialist.
One of our desires as leaders at NLC is to increase our connections with each other and newcomers to our community. Until recently we've had the blessing of a Community Strategist for over 2 years who has helped us achieve our goal of shifting New Life Community more strongly toward outward-focused transformational community ministry. Part of that goal was also to help us become more cohesive as a community, especially in light of the fragmentation we've experienced as a society through the COVID-19 pandemic. That's where this new role can help us.
The Connections Specialist is a part-time job, up to 20 hours per week (including Sunday mornings). They'll have three main responsibilities:
  1. Work with our teams and staff to create a  welcoming environment for anyone who comes to NLC's campus, coordinate our welcoming ministries, track attendance, and ensure that people have access to church information in their language.
  2. Ensure that we're following up with newcomers, connecting them to the people, resources, and ministries of NLC, and making sure no one "falls through the cracks" because they've been absent or unable to attend in person.
  3. Create and maintain NLC's social media presence.
We believe that though these responsibilities look challenging, there is someone special who already sees them as the kind of challenge God has been preparing them for. We think that person is already part of NLC, and if they're not that they'll be receptive to  joining us as a new NLC member over the next few months.
We're looking for someone with these qualities:
  • Accepted Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord, and demonstrates spiritual gifts and fruit in their life.
  • Abundantly positive with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Possesses adequate computer and social media skills.
  • Preferably has completed some college.

Please pray about this important role. If you feel the Lord leading you to apply, please contact Pastor Mark by email: pastor@newlifedinuba.org, or my cell: 559-977-6709.
And please pray about ways you can better connect with others at NLC. Make it a personal goal to meet someone new each time you come to the church. Invite someone you don't know to lunch after church. And begin praying about participating in small groups as we begin to plan for rolling them out.

Healing Rooms of Dinuba
is relocating to NLC

Healing Rooms of Dinuba is a local prayer and healing ministry affiliated with International Association of Healing Rooms and launched and run by Nori Naylor. Since it began prior to the pandemic the ministry has been located in the Dawnings Pregnancy Resource Center east of the high school and has been a place where many have received healing and restoration. When NLC began its Pray & Go ministry, Healing Rooms offered the use of their mobile phone number to receive calls and trigger our response. Already a woman called, received prayer, and gave her life to Christ through this wonderful partnership!
Starting January 17th, Healing Rooms of Dinuba will be located at New Life Community. Each Tuesday evening there will be worship on the "front porch" of NLC at the corner of El Monte and Nichols, with a time of prayer and ministry following in what has been our library. A new sign will join the others at the corner so people will see and feel welcome to come and receive all that the Lord has for them.
Be in prayer for the ministry, for Nori & Mike, and for those who will come. Interested in joining or supporting the Healing Rooms of Dinuba? Check out their Facebook page, or talk with Nori anytime.
