connect with God's Word
This may have been a holiday weekend for some, but our NLC volunteer teams were hard at work! This weekend Kimberly Enns became the new Tech leader for the sound/media team. Thank you, Kimberly, for the work you and your team are doing to ensure our service runs smoothly.
Some of our youth and elementary group leaders also came together to pray, fellowship, brainstorm and encourage one another. We are so grateful for all of our volunteers at NLC who faithfully serve week after week. We are so happy to share that Melissa Celaya is our new Sunday morning youth lead. She has been doing a tremendous job compassionately pastoring our youth. We look forward to seeing how God continues to work through our leaders!

- Pray for health and strength for George Sawatzky (recovering from surgery), Emma (Karen Madrid's mother), Carolina Coralles, Steve Bryan's sister Brenda Walters (recovering from bones broken in a fall) and Glen Zimmerman.
- Pray for Richard Clemmer, recovering from surgery.
- Pray for Abe & Holly Isaak's 6-year-old granddaughter Tessa Fiscus, who has started treatment for cancer, but is doing well at home.
- Also remember: Doris Siebert, Marilyn Chappell and other residents in Palm Village Healthcare, Harold Kruger and others in Sierra View, Louie and Michelle Perez, Mary Salazar, and Zach Clemmer.
- Continue to pray for those who have lost loved ones.
- Keep the SEARCH TEAM in your prayers as they work through assignments.
- Pray for our missionaries: Pablo & Maricela Chavez in Peru, Cecil & Tracy Ramos in Thailand, Jonathan & Joanna Gutierrez in Portugal, Ruddy & Cristina Ancheta in San Francisco, and Johnny & Denise Esposito, who are home before returning to SE Asia.
- Pray for peace as violence and war affect so many families and children in Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, in the Middle East, and in parts of Africa.

Did you know that God can bring HOPE in the name of Jesus to those in need with furniture? Yup, furniture!
Several years ago God placed on our hearts as a church to move out into our community and be a voice and presence to people in need. We took on this challenge and came up with the concept of providing household items to those who were starting over. Within two weeks we had several items donated and we were on our way. NLC had a Home Resource Center.
We started with a soft opening and teamed up with a local family shelter just across the street. As shelter clients moved through their 3 month program securing a job, finances and housing it was then time for us to meet. We came up with a "wish list" to fill out, checking off needed items for their new place that they soon would call HOME.
That was almost three years ago. God has blessed our efforts and has grown the HRC to be able to service not just one agency, but six! Your donations and those of our community and neighboring towns are what keep the HRC going. These donated items get a second life with a new family and give hope for a brighter future.
Let me share a story from this last week. We received a call on Thursday from an agency in a neighboring town who told us of a family in Dinuba who had lost everything in a fire. We contacted the Dinuba Fire Department to confirm and volunteer our services to the family. The nest day we met with the Dinuba Fire Officer, showed her around our HRC and handed the wish list to be filled out by the family. We received the wish list Sunday afternoon and Monday morning we were busy boxing up items and tagging furniture for delivery on Tuesday afternoon.
This delivery would be a bit different. Instead of using our usual NLC volunteers, the Dinuba Fire Department was going to deliver for us. Tuesday afternoon 3:00 p.m., two off-duty fire fighters and three fire volunteers in three trucks pulled up to the HRC ready and eager to load and deliver furniture to the fire victims' new apartment! The officer in charge also brought the mother of the family along so she could see where the furniture was coming from. She was overwhelmed and so pleased to see the items that were soon to be in her new home. Even though there was a language barrier she kept hugging us and with our limited knowledge of Spanish, we were still able to understand her saying, "Praise God! He is good!"
Let's continue to bring HOPE in the Name of Jesus with furniture!

What a beautiful story of how God is using HRC to help those in need. Praise God for his continued answers to prayer.
