For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13 NLT
God ALWAYS answers the phone.
In reading Romans 10:13, I thought about all the times that I let my phone calls go to my voicemail. I'm either too busy or I don't recognize the phone number so I let it go.
I also have been on the other end, making a phone call and hoping that the person on the other end answers my call just to be disappointed when it goes to their voicemail. I leave a message and wait for their return call.
That's NEVER the case with Jesus though. Sometimes His answer is to wait or to move in a direction that makes me feel uncomfortable, but He always answers my calls.
Thank you Jesus that you answer me when I call on your name.

This Week at Celebrate Recovery
Lesson 12 is basically principal four all wrapped up.
Here is an excerpt from this weeks lesson:
Phase one was driven by the knowledge that people tend to do and think strange things when they are trapped alone in a dark scary place for long periods of time. They get disorientated and their fears get blown out of proportion. Their minds play tricks on them. Sometimes they start doing self-destructive things. Sometimes they just give up! So the rescue experts decided that they needed to get a person down there to be with her as soon as possible.

Opioid deaths are at an all time high here in the Central Valley, as well as all across our country.
Naloxone (Narcan) is a medicine that rapidly reverses an opioid overdose. It is an opioid antagonist. This means that it attaches to opioid receptors and reverses and blocks the effects of other opioids. Naloxone can quickly restore normal breathing to a person if their breathing has slowed or stopped because of an opioid overdose. But, naloxone has no effect on someone who does not have opioids in their system, and it is not a treatment for opioid use disorder. Examples of opioids include heroin, fentanyl, oxycodone (OxyContin®), hydrocodone (Vicodin®), codeine, and morphine.
After the training BCJC will be on hand to distribute Narcan to everyone that attends.

Connection Corner
My name is Nacho, I'm a grateful believer in the healing power of Jesus Christ. It is only through Christ that I have experienced freedom from life's hurts, habits, and hang-ups. I celebrate freedom from an addiction to pornography. I had no idea that this would become such a problem in my life. Pornography distorted my perception and expectations of women - none of it congruent with God's plan.
My addiction threatened my marriage.
While attending Celebrate Recovery and getting involved in a step study, I learned that my hurts included childhood traumas and abandonment issues. The pornography was the habit that I developed to deal with the hurts in my life. My hang-up was me thinking that I could control my addiction and other aspects of my life on my own power. I've learned that in reality the only thing I have power over is my willingness to surrender my life to Christ.
Today I am free from pornography use, I am an overcomer of childhood abuse, and my relationships have been restored. Thank you Jesus!
