connecting you with...
God's Word

I get a verse on my phone every day from the YouVersion Bible app.
The daily verse for Tuesday, the 25th, was Romans 15:4.

"For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope."

This verse immediately connected me with our own month's memory verse!
It also gave me another reminder of how to hold to hope.
Reading the Bible provides hope!

Clink the link below to hear Pastor Herbert Cooper's verse of the day story.
He makes the connection to God's Word so clearly.

Yes! It's one more Vacation Bible School for this summer!
We're helping a church in Orange Cove provide VBS in that community next week.
There's plenty of opportunities to help. Contact Jessica Aquino.
This training is for everyone!
Saving someone's life from an overdose can give them another chance to know God's love.

  • Thank you for praying for me (Pastor Mark) as I've been recovering from COVID. Thank you for praying for my dad, Menno, who was undergoing heart tests and procedures this week.
  • Remember those who are sick and dealing with long-term medical issues: Glen Zimmerman, JR Southard, 3 people with vertigo, our senior adults at home and in care facilities, Mike Naylor receiving treatment for cancer, and others.
  • Thank the Lord for his grace in people's travels, especially Ken & Martha and Johnny & Denise who have returned from SE Asia recently.
  • Thank the Lord for the encouragement received by our Celebrate Recovery leaders at the CR Summit last week. Pray that people in our community will come and find hope in their hurts, hangups, and habits.
  • Praise the Lord for ministries that are meeting needs: our Home Resource Center, Open Gate, Faith & Finances, and the Healing Rooms of Dinuba.
  • Give thanks for the children who accepted Christ during VBS at NLC, and pray for children's hearts to be prepared to accept Jesus at the citywide VBS going on now at Washington Intermediate School, and next week in Orange Cove.
  • Remember our leaders. Give thanks for Otto Ekk who preached on the spur of the moment last Sunday! Pray for Chinoh Aquino in Qatar as he serves in the Air Force and as a witness for the Lord. Bruce Smith has also returned from vacation. Pray for our Personnel Team as they help discern a new Trustee.
  • Siblings, Dulce and Victor Gonzalez are wrapping up 8 days of mission training and global perspective through Multiply's SOAR Fresno program. Pray as they prepare to share on Sunday morning.

the Celebrate Recovery Summit

Misty Hernandez, Matt Muehlhauser, and Azalia Chavez
Rarely have I been among so many people in one place who have opened themselves up so freely before God and each other! Between 3000-5000 people gathered at Saddleback Church in southern Cal from the 19th-21st to worship, encourage, and learn.

If you sense yourself struggling to move forward in your faith, or are unsure how to find your footing after whatever life's thrown at you, or are unable to recognize the image of God when you look in the mirror or into your neighbor's face, then come to NLC on a Thursday evening and move forward, find your footing, and recognize who God made you to be!

Our NLC leadership team (including those unable to attend the summit) are ready to reconnect you to the presence and power of God in your life through Jesus Christ. Now's the time!
