Mae Ewert
Today (August 9th) is Mae Ewert's 101st birthday!
Mae and her late husband Albert became part of our church in 1947.
They were both educators and civic leaders involved with Kiwanis, the public library,
and much more. While I was visiting Mae the phone rang with birthday greetings from friends in Malsch, Germany, Dinuba's Sister City! The table was filled with birthday cards.
And as you can see in the photo, Mae is just the kind of person to get a kick out of the theme her family picked for this special birthday: 101 Dalmatians!
Though we don't see Mae in church much, she keeps us in prayer, encouraging and blessing us as we live out the Good News of Jesus by loving our community. Her encouragement comes through the post office in the form of handwritten letters and cards, with stamps.
From the looks of it, Mae has enough stationery to keep her going to 115!
Bless you, Mae! And Happy 101st Birthday!

God's heart for others
- Dinuba Unified Schools has been using our church facility every day this week for training, orientation, and staff photos. It's been a constant reminder to pray for them, including two police officers serving as resource officers for our schools and several local Campus Life mentors like Pastor Steve serving at Jefferson. Let's keep them all in prayer as students arrive.
- The air conditioners are working, praise the Lord!
- Pray for Kristel Salazar and Lanisha, who is new to NLC. Both are dealing with lumps, and Lanisha also has bladder cancer. Lord, we ask for healing!
- Mike Naylor's in final preparations for receiving radiation seeds for his prostate cancer. Pray for continued health and strength as well as complete healing. Pastor Bill Nicolay of New Beginnings in Dinuba has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Pray for his healing, too, and well as Glen Zimmerman and Eugene Enns, and others with ongoing medical issues like JR and Janet Southard.
- Pray for Cecil & Tracy Ramos, our Multiply missionaries in Thailand. They'll be visiting us at NLC in December. Praise the Lord that Johnny & Denise Esposito are safely back in Orange Cove to assist Jessica while Chinoh is deployed in Qatar. Chinoh attended the Elder meeting this week and requests prayer as he continues to witness to roommate, Ethan, and others.
- Pray for our CR Team and partners, Broken Chains JC, as they prepare for the Opioid Awareness training event. Pray that people will come so lives will be saved.
- Pray for wisdom as leaders prepare a new budget for NLC starting in September. We thank the Lord for the abundant provisions God has given us for serving our community.
- Pray for R & G, going through some intense challenges. Pray for protection, peace, and rest.
- Pray for peace in this world as wars rage and division grows. Ask God to give you his love that covers a multitude of sin.

I am missing hymns being sung on Sunday mornings. We could even bring the hymnal over from the sanctuary and use them. Sung as written would be my vote. Thank you for considering my wish. Luann
Hymns missed with the worship choruses is a great idea. I vote yes as well. Thanks!
I agree with Luann and Sonya about hymns and scripture songs. I find them so meaningful in worship. Leadership might do well to take to heart these repeated requests from the congregation.
I agree with Luann, Jean and Sonya. I so enjoy singing hymns. Please consider this request.
Hi sisters, thank you for commenting. The Elder Team at NLC wanted you to know that we read and talked about each of your comments and requests at our regular meeting. We appreciate you and your ministry at NLC.
