Crossroads: A Spiritual Journey
2 Corinthians 12:9 - "But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
Every person, at some point in life, finds themselves at a crossroads. For those of us who are on the journey to recovery, these intersections are deeply significant. They represent a decision point: a choice between returning to our old ways or continuing on the path of growth and healing.
In today’s scripture reading, the Apostle Paul shares a powerful truth. When he pleads with God to take away his "thorn," God responds not by removing the problem but by affirming His grace and power in Paul's weakness. This truth is at the heart of our recovery journey. We are not called to be strong on our own, but rather to let Christ’s power shine through our weaknesses.
Living our new life in Christ is so important. It’s about recognizing our weakness and boasting in God’s strength. It’s about acknowledging that our paths are not marked by our steps alone, but by God’s guidance.
As you encounter crossroads in your recovery journey, remember, you are not alone. God’s grace is sufficient for you, and His power is perfected in your weakness. So press on, confident in Him who has called you and guides you.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for your enduring grace and for your power that is made perfect in my weakness. At every crossroads, guide me to make choices that lead me closer to you. Strengthen me on this road to recovery and help me to celebrate not by my strength but by yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

"CrossRoads"
Principle 7 and Step 10 are a crossroads of your recovery. It is not a place to stop and rest on past accomplishments. We need to thank God for getting us this far on our road to recovery, praise Him for the many victories over our hurts, hang-ups, and habits we have seen in working the first nine steps, but we also need to continue working the last three steps with the same devotion and enthusiasm that got us to this point in our recoveries.
Save The Date!
We've all been hurt by other people, we've hurt ourselves, and we've hurt others. And as a result, every single one of us ends up with some sort of hurt, hang-up, or habit. But the question we all face is, Where do we go from here?
Life's Healing Choices offers freedom from our hurts, hang-ups, and habits through eight healing choices that promise true happiness and life transformation. Using the Beatitudes of Jesus as a foundation, Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church and John Baker, who is also a pastor at Saddleback, developed the eight choices shared in this video / workbook series.
