2. OPEN YOUR HOME

Sunday evening, May 8 (Concert 6:30 p.m.)
After the concert students will meet their hosts. Hosts need to (1) provide a bed for two women or two men (either individual beds or sharing a queen/king size), (2) provide breakfast Monday morning, and then (3) provide transportation back to NLC no later than 9:00 a.m.
Please let us know if you are able to host pairs of male or female students, or choir director, Dr. Jeffrey Wilson, who is traveling alone.  (If you are able to accommodate a girl's allergies to cats and tree nuts, then we know exactly whom to assign to you!)
Please call Elaine at the church office soon. Thanks for opening your home!

3. PRAY

  • Tom Regier is in Uganda. While trying to repair two airplanes he is also trying to bring peace between the missionary groups that need the planes. He is healthy and making progress.
  • John Warkentin is filming in Thailand as part of his role with Multiply. Praise the Lord for his safe arrival and negative COVID test. Continue to pray the swelling in his legs goes away.
  • Joyce Braun has received good results from several medical tests taken over the last few months. Praise the Lord and continue to pray for her and Don as she heals from the leg bone fracture.
  • Praise the Lord that Bob Martin has moved into a room at Dinuba Healthcare! Continue to pray for others receiving nursing or memory care: Olga Brandt, Chris Holmen, Vicky Barkman, Marilyn Chappell, Jean Wohlgemuth, Rosella Isaak, Luella Unruh and Alice White.
  • Remember those with ongoing health issues: Glen & Peggy Zimmerman, Ruth Serrato, JR Southard, Lois Brittel, Brian Smith, Galen Wiest, Kelly Friesen’s sister-in-law, Dana, and Ron Brown’s sister, Bonnie.
  • Pastor Mark was able to visit Erick Parra last Sunday at Teen Challenge. He is doing well and growing his faith in Jesus. Pray he is able to receive surgical care for his hand.
  • Continue to pray for peace in Ukraine.
  • Pray for Multiply worker Jen Schmidt in Mexico. Pray for her administrative oversight of the Matthew Training Centre that trains young adults for cross-cultural mission, and for wisdom in discipling interns, teams, and Mexican youth in local churches.
  • Pray for more adults to serve the children in NLC Kids and youth as we rejoice over the growing number of families with children coming to church.

Take the Gospel out to the Community

It is NLC’s mission to transform lives through Jesus Christ, a mission we have been pursuing through more and more community-focused ministries and events. Pray that we can come in contact with people who need to know Jesus. And pray for these specific events and ministries:
  1. Brian Willems and the team from NLC Celebrate Recovery will be leading our church’s presence at two local festivals. Come out and meet people, join a circle of prayer.
    • Dinuba’s Cinco de Mayo Festival, May 6-7, at RoseAnn Vuich Park
    • Blessing of the Bikes, May 14, at RoseAnn Vuich Park
  2. Invite someone to the Fresno Pacific University choir on Sunday, May 8th, 6:30 p.m.
  3. Bring a grieving friend to Griefshare. It opened last Sunday night with 6 community members coming to find comfort from their loss. Martha Sawatzky and John Regier lead and host Sunday nights at 6:30 p.m.
  4. Ron & Norma Froese will be offering Faith & Finances beginning Sunday, May 15, 6:30 p.m.
  5. Celebrate Recovery will host its soft Grand-Opening on Thursday, May 24, 5:30 p.m.
  6. Grab & Go Meals is Sunday, May 29th. Let Laurel know you can help prepare meals or serve.
